Our beautiful, loving mother of three, grandmother of eight, great-grandmother of four and amazing wife of almost 50 years; Martha Land departed this world on October 1st of 2016, peacefully at the age of 64.
Martha was born December 23, 1952, to Mr. and Mrs. Leon Page. She and her twelve siblings were found in church with their parents each time the doors were opened. It was in church where she met her husband of almost 50 years, John Land, and it was in church where her passion for our Savior flourished into what she most was known for; prayer and singing. Martha was full of laughter and song and was often heard singing or humming wherever she went. She was a lady of multiple gifts; besides being a seamstress, hairdresser, cook, and vocal talent, Martha was also known for her ministry and for writing many amazing songs. Her songs were songs of inspiration, devotion, honor and love for our God, family, and country. Her love of life was so intense that she extended her attentions to include all of God's creations which were admirably displayed in her passions for plant and animal husbandry. She was a wealth of Bible knowledge, a fount of compassion, a wise counsel and a tower of strength and her legacy lives now in her children, her children's children and can already be seen in her great-grandchildren.
Our mom, Martha, has been a blessing to many people who have heard her testimony of life. She continued inspiring and uplifting others even during her depleted health. With all that she has been to others, she has been even more to her family. We thank you, Momma, for bringing us to the feet of Jesus so we can know and love Him like you do. Thank you, for your words of encouragement for each endeavor we've pursued; you've always believed in us. We are going to miss you so very much but we are so proud to know that you're in the arms of Jesus so we'll see you again someday. The stars in the heavens will surely shine much brighter with your welcome Home.
