Wow....no words can express the shock I felt from learning of his passing - so untimely. I worked with him at the jail many years ago, and he was a very good jail deputy who knew how to do his job well, and he was also one of my mentors during my days as a young rookie jailer. He was a good man to work with and well-liked by many.
May he rest in peace, and my condolences to his family.

When I first started at the sheriff office I, at times felt out of place, he would greet me with a smile a handshake and a pat on the back. His cheerfulness and enthusiasm was contagious and had a definite impact on the way I behaved towards other new co-workers. I would see him around occasionally over the years and he never failed to make me feel like a long lost friend. My regret is that I didn't know him better... Rest in peace bro

Sorry for your loss. I used to talk to Martin all the time when I would see him at the Harris County Sheriff's Office and so did my deceased husband George Taylor Haltom. I lost touch after I retired. Martin was George's cousin on his mother's side of family (Darlene Lewis Haltom).Martin was such a nice young man with an amazing smile. I am sure you will miss him dearly. Rest in Peace, Martin. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.
