Fannie Ruth Gilbert was born March 31, 1930 in Winsboro, TX to Jack and Mollie Gilliam and passed away Friday November 28, 2014 at the age of 84. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Darst Funeral Home, 796 Russell Palmer, Kingwood, TX 77339. Interment will follow at 1:00 pm in Forest Lawn Cemetery of Houston, Inc, 8701 Almeda Genoa Road, Houston, TX 77075. I have known this very special lady for over 32 years. She was always eager to help those in need and I have experienced her golden heart as a refugee from Europe. I had no place to go. Together with another 2 men from my country we have found true Texas hospitality. The house of Mr and Mrs Troyce Gilbert was my home. I have felt a warm welcome and was hoping that one day I can repay my debt. This opportunity came after her CVA, when she became totally paralyzed and ended in a nursing home. I was able to take her home in August of 2007 and see her walk with assistance of the walker a year later.Then came more medicines and more problems. A lactic acidosis thanks to Meformin have lead to cardiac arrest in 2009. She came back from death and kept going always hoping to walk and drive her car. Our dreams were shattered on November 28, when she passed away peacefully in her sleep.I wish I had another chance...I have always treated Her as my Mom and no words can express my sorrow...May YEHOVAH bless her and keep her.May YEHOVAH shine his face on her.Hope to see her again someday.
