Suzanne Johnson Obituary

Suzanne Innis Johnson was born on April 12, 1944 in Des Moines, Iowa to John J. Innis and Carel Trammel. She passed from this life into eternal life to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 19th, 2022 in Houston, Texas.

Sue was preceded in death by her father, Lt. Colonel, John J. Innis, her mother, Carel Innis, and her two brothers, Randy Innis and Jimmy Innis.

Sue is survived by her husband, Tim Johnson, her daughters Stephanie Parke and Ashley Garza and her husband Jared Garza and her five beautiful grandchildren, Katie Parke, Allie Parke, Timmy Parke, Parker Garza and Charlie Garza.

Sue was a child of an air force family and grew up all over the world in Japan, France, England and the United States. She attended 5 high schools in 4 years. It's no wonder she never knew a stranger. Sue's father's assignment moved her family to Fort Walton Beach where she would forever call home. She was working as a waitress at the Silver Beach resort in Destin, when a handsome life guard, who was stealing a pie from the kitchen, caught her eye. It was love at first sight. Tim and Sue were married on August 12, 1967 at the Hurlburt Airforce Base Chapel. This year would have been their 55th wedding anniversary.

Sue attended The University of North Carolina, Charlotte where she earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in nursing. Sue was very compassionate and loved by many patients during her 30 year career working as a Home Health Nurse.

She spent many years playing league tennis in Danville, California and The Woodlands, Texas. She also enjoyed playing bridge, her monthly book club and her Friday lunches with her girlfriends. She was a devout Catholic and very involved in her church community.

Sue's greatest love was her husband Tim. They had a beautiful, deep love that was felt by all who knew them. They enjoyed spending time together dancing, watching college football games, going to the gym and for walks, playing tennis, going to concerts, boating, traveling, or meeting friends for dinner. Whatever they were doing it was always filled with love and laughter.

Sue was a wonderful wife, mother, friend and the best grandmother. She was the heart of her family. She had a beautiful smile and infectious laugh that she would share freely. She was always up for an adventure. She was fun and funny and the easiest person to be around. Heaven has gained a beautiful spirit and she will be missed by all.

Her funeral service will be celebrated at 10:00 am, on Friday, March 4th at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, The Woodlands, Texas. Inurnment will follow in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida.
