Anthony John Kurzinger "Ott"

Anthony John Kurzinger "Ott", 87, passed away January 17, 2008.

He was born in Cadogan, Pa. on May 23, 1920 and later graduated high school in Clymer, Pa. Anthony went on to serve his country in the Pacific Theatre during World War II in the Army, and moved to Akron in 1945 following his Honorable Discharge. He retired from General Tire as master mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Elaine and his son, Scott. One of ten children, he is survived by his brother, Max (Ann); sisters, Anna Nose and Barbara Davidson; many nieces and nephews; and numerous good friends.

Anthony's hobbies included golfing, roller skating, bowling and fishing. He also enjoyed traveling, telling jokes and found great pleasure in making people laugh. He was a joy to be around and will bee greatly missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 21, 2008, at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with Fr. Joseph Kraker officiating. Inurnment at East Akron Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the Copley V.F.W. Post #7971. The family would like to invite friends back to the funeral home following the cemetery committal for a lunch reception in honor of Anthony.
