Hazel Wehn Obituary

Hazel Wehn, 99, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 25, 2021. She was born June 13, 1922 in Tarentum, Pennsylvania to the late Percy and Hazel S Schrecker. Hazel was a faithful member of Green Valley United Methodist Church for 35 years. She worked for Dow Chemical Company as a secretary for 22 years and worked part-time as a secretary at her church for 17 years. Hazel enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitching, floral design, cake decorating and birdwatching. She loved her dogs and animals in general. Hazel was known for being kind and sweet to others and made friends easily. Oh, how she loved her McDonald's hot sugar-free vanilla lattes! Besides her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her loving husband, William "Bill" Wehn; brother, Robert (Phyllis) Schrecker; son-in-law, Nick Glowski and daughter-in-law, Dona. She is survived by her son Thomas Wehn, daughter, Rev. Patricia Wehn-Glowski, five grandchildren and a loving niece, nephew and their families. Funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Green Valley United Methodist Church, 620 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319 with Pastor Dave Gilbert officiating. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 11 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
