James Eckenrode Obituary
He was a man of many talents that was always there for us when we needed him. His family was his life and we will miss him dearly. He served in the Navy during World War II and in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid runner until late middle age. He continued to work part time for his dear friend Tony Debs.
He leaves behind, his loving wife of 62 years, Joyce Eckenrode; faithful little buddy, Woody; sons, James (Anne) and Randy; daughter, Debbie (Bill); grandchildren, Matt, Luke, Mike, Nikki, Magie, Carly, Caleb, and Conner; great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Rachel, Michael, Jordan, Kody, Nina, Makayla and Daphne; brother, Warren; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Friday, January 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a service will be held Saturday, January 15 at 11 a.m. To leave the family a special message online, visit www.NewcomerAkron.com. (NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 330-784-3334)
