John P. "Pat" Barry

John P. "Pat" Barry, 79, passed away Sept. 6, 2002.

He was born Nov. 23, 1922, in Akron, the son of John F. and Mary E. Barry. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Ma rine Corps. He was preceded in death by his parents and by broth er, Thomas F. Barry.

He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Helen M. (Maluke) Barry; daughter, Debra (James) Barnett; and granddaughter, Caitlin, all of Fleetwood, Pa.; siblings, Mary Williams of Paris, Texas, Catherine Vincent of Monmouth, Ill., William E. Barry of Akron, Margaret I. Adams of Akron, Jeannette (Dr. George) Blind of Norton, and James K. Barry of Palm Springs, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Adams Mason Funeral Home, located at 791 E. Market St., Akron. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, at St. Vincent Catholic Church, Father Joseph Kraker officiating. Entombment at Rose Hill Mausoleum, with Firestone V.F.W. Post 3383 conducting military rites. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memo rial contributions to Father Corrigan's Scholarship Fund and/or VNS Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridge wood Rd., Copley, Ohio 44333.
