John Stidd Obituary

John Leslie Stidd, 53, of Jensen Beach, died September 13th at the Treasure Coast Hospice, after a courageous battle with Glibolastoma (brain cancer).

Born in Ravenna, Ohio, to Jean and the late Merle Stidd, John continues to be loved by his wife, Trina; his mom, Jean; daughter, Leslie and her fiancé Sean O'Hara of Orlando; son, Christopher (CJ); their mother, Karen; stepson, Kyle Lang; and mother-in-law, Clare Gill, all of Jensen Beach; siblings and in-laws, Shelley and Larry Wilson, David and Marsha Stidd, Mark and Eileen Stidd, Susan and Terry Soroczak, and Brian Stidd who passed away 9/23/04; his favorite aunts and uncles, Dolores and Lyle Worley, Linda and David Wagner, the Dietz family, Jean's companion Bill Farkley, his cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and co-workers. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

John had a passion for life, he was a charmer. His smile and laughter never went unnoticed, and luckily, his kids inherited the twinkle from his beautiful blue eyes. A hug from him left you feeling like a million bucks. It was no secret, and so it was accepted, that he was his mother's favorite Growing up, as siblings do, he enjoyed picking on his younger sister and brother, the words ``John, how would you like grounded?' were often heard, but never backed-up.

His Grandmother Hulda told everyone that John had an IQ test and that he was a genius, but they didn't want to tell him for fear it would go to his head...a story his family often questioned, and loved to joke about.

Friends from his childhood and throughout his vibrant life will continue to laugh about the experiences they shared.

Although we are saddened by his passing we are enriched for having known him.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Ravenna in November, time and date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Treasure Coast Hospice.

What a shock to discover this!
In all the years John was married to my niece, I never really got to know him. That will forever be a loss. I will state that he always treated me with decency and kindness. He seemed to be a very good man.
God bless all of you in your loss.

Trina and family. I haven't met you personally but John was a good friend of my son, Kenny Yonker, when we lived in Ravenna, OH.
Kenny's sister, Sherry Yonker Lain, arranged for Kenny and John
to spend some time together in 2005 in Florida two months before
we lost Kenny. Our thoughts and prayers are truly with you because we have traveled this road. May the Lord bless and keep you at this
time of great loss. He is faithful. Dorothy Yonker Grappo

Dear Trina:
I can't express what an honor it was to have been blessed by John's friendship most of my life. His gentle and kind spirit was contagious. HE treated Kenny like a king, thank you for taking him on his final sunset cruise on the river. John's picture hangs in my den now. He will always be a sweet memory in all of our hearts. We are here for you and the family. Please call if you need anything.
Our prayers and sympathies are with you.
