Michael Shawhan Obituary
He was born in Barberton on October 27, 1949 to the late Richard and Mary Shawhan and he was a lifelong resident of Akron. He graduated from Kenmore High School in 1967. Mike retired from the City of Akron where he served as a chief union steward. He was an avid sports fan and loved to play euchre. He was an excellent provider for his family.
Mike will be deeply missed by his wife of 40 years, Denise Shawhan; sons, Kyle (Anne) and Brian Shawhan; siblings, Patricia Shawhan, Richard Shawhan, Jr., Judith (Samuel) Grasinger, Dennis (Tamela) Shawhan, and Thomas (Carol) Shawhan; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kalym, and Kylie Shawhan; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Shawhan Family, I am very sorry for your loss. Mike was my neighbor for over 30 years. I will miss going to the Firestone Park council meetings with him. God Bless and I will greatly miss him.

Mike was my brother-in-law for many years, whenever we talked we talked of the 60's music and cars. We also talked sports, he will be missed and my prayers are with Kyle, Brian and my sister Denise.

My wife and I are deeply saddened by your loss. Mike was a very friendly and warm person. I enjoyed talking sports with him and playing euchre with him as well. When greeting you he always had a huge smile and handshake for you. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Rest in peace my friend.
