Samuel Thomas Obituary
CANAL FULTON -- Samuel J. Thomas, age 76, of Canal Fulton, passed away on September 11, 2013 after a brief illness.
He was born in Akron on September 10, 1937, to Mary and Chris Thomas. He graduated from Garfield High School and served in the U.S. Army National Guard before starting a career at Krogers as a Head Grocery Clerk, later joining the U.S. Post Office.
Sammy blessed all he met with his gentle kindness, infectious laugh, and generosity. Sam loved to go golfing or eat breakfast with his friends. Saturday night bingo at St. Phillips and James was a favorite and he rarely missed a session. Sam loved to play cards and was a fierce and tenacious competitor. He enjoyed his retirement from the U.S. Post Office in Norton in 2002.
He is survived by wife, Donna, who was the love of his life; son, Donald (LuAnn); brother, George (Jane); grandchildren, Charles (Fran), Michelle (Tom) Congrove, Megan, Molly; and great-grandson, Michael Thomas.
Service and Military Honors will be conducted in the Office Chapel at 11 a.m. Monday, September 16, 2013 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 2580 Romig Rd., Akron, Ohio, Reverend Father Vladimir Bakurdzhiev officiating. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association Central Ohio Main Office, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43215 in his memory.

Donny, Sincere condolences to you and your family on Sammy's passing. His friendship will be missed. We had many good times together starting at Kroger through his last days. God Bless you Donny. You were a good son.
