William Callihan Obituary
William Claude Callihan II, 69, passed away Friday, September 25, 2015. William grew up in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
He received his Bachelor's Degree in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and graduated from medical school at the University of West Virginia. He served his residency at Children's Medical Center of Akron and worked in pediatrics for many years. William had a passion for cars and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He is reunited in death with his wife, Jacqueline; his parents, William and Helen; and sister-in-law, Anne Fassnacht. He is survived by his daughter, Erin Marie of Westlake, Ohio. In addition he leaves behind sisters-in-law, Susan Madigan of Silver Lake, Ohio and Margaret (Douglas) Knoyer of Munroe Falls, Ohio. He is also survived by brothers-in-law, Michael (Lori) Madigan of Sagamore Hills, Ohio, John (Dodie) Madigan of Silver Lake, Ohio, and Stephen Fassnacht of Akron, Ohio; as well as many nieces and nephews.
William's family wishes to thank Maria Malave for all the care given to him. William was loved by all who knew him and truly touched many lives through his work. He will be greatly missed.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment at Silver Springs Cemetery in Stow. Dear Erin. I was shocked to her of your Dad's passing. He and I and several other pediatricians shared call over the years. I met you at your mother's funeral and I had known her since my days as a resident at Childrens. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time
