Doris Scoggins Obituary

Feb 3, 1921 - Jan 13, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Doris was the second of four daughters born to George and Irena Epperly. She was born on February 3, 1921, in Webb, Oklahoma. The family lived in a dugout, mud hut and eventually moved to Oklahoma City when she was a young girl. Doris graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1939 and attended Business Classes after graduation. Doris and Joe Scoggins married on May 29, 1942, in Oklahoma City. Doris was most proud of being a housewife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, working in her flower beds, sewing, playing croquet, golfing and adventure traveling. Doris was a devout and dedicated Christian, who read her Bible daily. She is survived by son, Floyd C Scoggins and wife Sandy Scoggins (daughter in spirit); sister, Georgia June Livingston; grandchildren, Tiffany Owens, Angelique Martinez, Jennifer Clark Vazquez, Johnny Scoggins, Joe Scoggins, and Zena Scoggins; great-grandchildren, Sage Owens, Jewel Owens, Delta Block, Jefferson Ochoa, Julia Ochoa, Joel Ochoa, and Justis Clark; numerous nieces and nephews; and beloved pets, Black Jack and Axle. She was preceded in death by Lloyd Epperly (infant brother), Joe B. Scoggins (husband), George E. Epperly (dad), Irena Epperly (mom), Royce Ochoa (great-grandson), Delaphene Campbell (sister), Maxine "Mickey" Harrison (sister), and Jimmy Hanna (nephew). Services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 18th, at Resthaven Funeral Home in Oklahoma City. To leave online condolences, please visit ResthavenOKC.com
