EUGENE KEFFER

KefferOctober 28, 1943 - July 21, 2012 DEL CITY Eugene B. Keffer was born on October 28, 1943 to O.W. and Thelma Keffer in Oklahoma City, OK and passed away at the VA Medical Center in OKC on July 21, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. We know he was greeted in Heaven by Jesus and all his loved ones who went before him. Gene graduated from Central High School in 1961 and received his Bachelor's Degree in Law Enforcement from OCU. Gene served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War and was a proud U.S. Army Veteran. Gene was a great and gregarious man who loved his family and friends. Gene loved riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting, and panning for gold in Colorado with his sons. Gene worked tirelessly to improve medical benefits and access to those benefits for Veterans. He was a Vet rep on campus at OCCC, worked at the VA Regional Office in Muskogee, OK, and as a Health System Specialist at Barksdale AFB in Bossier City, LA. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base as a Contracting Officer's Technical Representative for Tri-Care. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, O.W. and Thelma Keffer. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda Keffer; his precious sons, Ryan Keffer and Dustin Keffer; grandson, Karsten Keffer; sister, Charlene B. Chappelle and family; sisters-in-law, Mary Miner and family, and Jan Luza and family. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be from 12 pm until 5 pm on Sunday, July 29, at Sunny Lane Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10 am on Monday, July 30, in the Sunny Lane Funeral Home Chapel located at 4000 SE 29 Street, Del City, OK 73115. Burial will follow at 2 pm at Ft.
