MICHAEL ARMS

July 17, 1971 - Nov 19, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Michael Arms, 43, Oklahoma City, was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, after a valiant battle with the illness that took his life. He touched many lives with his sweet, godly spirit and his loving attitude. Mike was born to Allen and Linda Arms in La Grange, Illinois, on July 17, 1971. Mike attended school in North Carolina, Georgia, Illinois and Oklahoma before graduating from Putnam City North High School. Mike attended Oklahoma State University and graduated cum laude from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1997. After graduation, he became youth minister at Cashion First Baptist Church in Cashion, Oklahoma. Mike went on to make a career change and enjoyed a long and successful career in computer programming and Internet Web design. He achieved a high level of expertise in his field, and he became the CIO of a local cell phone recycling company. He also simultaneously served as volunteer chaplain at the Youth Detention Center in Oklahoma City and participated in the Bill Glass Weekends of Champions, where he led many prison inmates to salvation in Jesus Christ. Mike is survived by the love of his life, Becky, and devoted children, Braydon, Hannah, Jacob, and Andrew, all of the home. Mike is also survived by loving parents, Allen and Linda Arms; sister and brother-in-law, Joel and Lenee Lane; his mother-in-law, Betty Moorhead; nieces, Amanda and Lauren Lane; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. His grandparents, Homer and Ona Mae Arms, of Oklahoma City; and Lloyd and Evelyn Bryan, of Ponca City, Oklahoma; predeceased Mike. Mike was a devoted Christian man. Mike had a deep understanding of the Holy Bible and continued throughout his life to study God's word. Mike enjoyed spending time and playing with his children. God and family were Mike's priority; it was reflected in all areas of his life. Mike will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Sunday, November 23, 2014, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Vondel Smith North and a funeral service Monday, November 24, 2014, at 2 p. m. at Heritage Baptist Church, 14317 N. Council, Oklahoma City. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 8701 Northwest Expy., Oklahoma City.
