Paul Gresham

Paul Gresham was born on January 3, 1911, in New Mexico Territory, and went to his eternal reward on July 5, 2009. After growing up in Altus,OK, he went to college at Western OK State College and Southern Nazarene University, graduating with a bachelor's degree from the latter. Further education took him to Oklahoma University for an MA inhistory, and then to Vanderbilt University for a PhD. He had a lengthy career in higher education, both as a professor and an administrator. Institutions served included Bresee College in Hutchinson, KS; Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN; Honolulu Christian College; and Point Loma Nazarene University, CA. His career at these locations totaled 44 years. After retirement, he moved back to Oklahoma and continued part-time teaching and institutional research at Southern Nazarene University. He is predeceased by his wife, Martha Dewitt; and son, Daniel Kay. He is survived by son, Loren Gresham and wife Linda; granddaughter, Lynette Suzanne Strawn and husband Brad; and great- grandsons, Evan and Keaton. Service of celebration will be held in Bethany First Church of the Nazarene on Friday at 11:00 am. Memorials may be made to the Daniel Kay Gresham English Scholarship Endowment, Southern Nazarene University, Bethany.
