Alfred Douglas Dickens, 72
Crestwood
Alfred Douglas Dickens of Crestwood, Ky. passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023.
He was born to the late Alfred and Geneva Perkins Dickens on Nov. 12, 1950 in Campbellsville, Ky.
Doug retired from the United States Postal Service in Louisville where he was a city carrier for many years. He served in the United States Navy from 1970-1974. Doug loved baseball and enjoyed riding motorcycles.
Left to cherish the memory of Doug are his wife of 28 years; Janice Burton Dickens, son; Christopher Dickens, step-son; Ronnie Stephens (Vicki), step-grandchildren; Parker Stephens, Amy Norton (Chuck), and Kelli Hawkins (Johnny), siblings; Larry Dickens, Wanda Washburn (Ronald) and Timmy Dickens, extended family and friends.
A memorial gathering to celebrate the life of Doug will be held on Saturday, May 20 2023 from 1-3 p.m. at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 706 W Jefferson St, La Grange, Ky. with Navy honors being performed at 3 p.m.
Memorial donations can be made in Doug's name to the Humane Society of Oldham County.
