Ruth Klingenfus Obituary

Ruth Guthrie Melone Klingenfus, age 93 of Crestwood, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016, with her loving family around her.
She was a lifelong member of the Pewee Valley Presbyterian Church, Oldham County Homemakers, a graduate of Western Kentucky University, a longtime volunteer at Baptist Hospital, a founding member of the Oldham County History Center, a dedicated blood donor and a quilter.
The family thanks the caring staff at Baptist Hospital, La Grange for the loving care Ruth received there.
She is survived by two sons, Robert L. (Angela) and Eddie C. Klingenfus (Debbie); two daughters, Shirley Ann Orr (Earl) and Sarah Ruth Roberts (Junie); nine grandchildren, Angela Roberts Smith (Tommy), Amy Roberts Alvoy (Tim), Virginia Klingenfus Meiners (Matt), Daniel Klingenfus (MaryBeth), David Orr (Erin), Patrick Orr (Jodi), Jonathon Klingenfus (Katie), Allen Klingenfus, Racheal Klingenfus (Chris Williams); eleven great grand children; many loving nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Robert Klingenfus and her sister, Ann Harrell.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday February 1, 2016 at Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood, followed by burial in Louisville Memorial Garden East. Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 31 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Oldham County History Center or Pewee Valley Presbyterian Church.

She was loved by many and my mother included Anna Moser. They both went to the homemaker together. I remember going with her when I moved up here. They sent me all sorts of things when I lost everything for my baby during the hurricane in Florida. She was and will be special to me.
