I met Jon while playing Little League baseball, at the poolroom and all through High School as a classmate. He was fun to be around, competitive and adventurous and I´m betting he´s probably given the good Lord a couple strokes just to see how that works out. Prayers to you Jon and to all of your family.

I met Jon in the first grade at Public School No. 5 in Boardmanville and graduated with him and around 300 other classmates from Olean High School in 1959. He went on to become a teacher and a leader and a real game-changer around the world. I remember Jon as an intellectual, a sportsman, and one of the "cool kids" who made friends wherever he went. It was a privilege to have shared some time with him. Rest in Peace Jon.

I was a pre trainee at Bankers Trust when I first met him in early 1973. Great sense of humour and mischievousness. When he was expecting his first child he said: if it is a boy, I might call him Hale Julius..... He then left BTco to go to Perrier, saying: anyone that can sell a bottle of water for $5, must be doing something right. He will be missed. Best, John C. Mowinckel

I was in the class of 59 - Olean High. School - with Jon. Shared a number of math classes with him/ geez was he fast and smart. He had a wicked sense of humor and knew more jokes than anybody. From the obituary Jon enjoyed an incredible life. An admirer - James Dorr
