I shall never forget this great guy! Meeting him in a class at Cortland was such fun, so very enjoyable! He was wonderfully engaged in education leadership, had great vision and I am so honored that we were friends! I miss him and wish his family comfort and peace. What a tragic loss! A prince of a fellow gone too soon!

July 17, 2013

I know this is late - but I am just now finding out about this awful tragedy. Keith was a friend of mine - but we didn't talk often. I was actually looking for his Facebook account to touch base and noticed it was gone. I will miss knowing that he was there if I needed him, and I regret not touching base sooner. My condolences to you all. Cristeen

Dear Kevin: as Keith's brother I wanted to write another condolence to you, having known him from graduate school as I said in my earlier note. I cannot get this tragedy out of my mind and heart, read your comments in the newspaper, KNOW how proud both your parents must be of both their sons, wish I could have been there at the prayer vigil but certainly have sent my prayers to God for Keith. It is a terrific loss to everyone he touched and would have touched in his chosen field. I am so very sorry. Strength to all of you; I know you have it to carry on. Very truly, Ms. Linda J. Holmes

Jordan Turner

September 27, 2012

Mr.Reed was the one man at S.E that no matter what was happening in my life and no matter what the circumstances were he always gave me hope. The last thing he said to me was that he knew I was a good responsible kid and that I would keep everyone safe and in line as he put his arm around me and patted me on the back. I left S.E when my father was passing away and at that years graduation I told him what my plans were and he couldn't understand why I wasn't walking with the others graduating and made sure to let me know that I can do anything I want to in life and that I would do just fine in college that semester. His life story and everything he went through through out the last few years and survived was incredibly inspiring to say the least. Days after he was out of the hospital after his motorcycle accident we gathered for a assembly and to our suprise Mr.Reed was there. As he sat and spoke he let us know that he was happy to be alive, he loved each and everyone of us as if we were his own children, and that he could not wait to get back to helping us through our day to day lives in and outside of school. None of us will forget him, the things he taught us, or the love and compassion he showed to each and every friend, student, and family member. There isn't too many people who will treat you as if they've known you their entire life and you are their best friend the day you meet them but I will forever remember Mr.Keith Reed as the man who was sincerely everyone's best friend. I'll miss you but I know that you are still here at heart whenever any of us need to some help getting through the day. To the Reed family, I know it seems as though everyone is saying the same things, and that this will never get better but it will. I'm not much of a religious man but I have faith that Mr.Reed will forever be with you helping the wounds from this tragedy and all in future struggles heal.

May you rest in peace Keith...
