Mark Shelander Obituary
ELDRED, Pa. - Mark A. Shelander, 53, of Canfield Hollow Road, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Saturday (Nov. 20, 2021).
Born Sept. 7, 1968, in Bradford, he was a son of Ken and Florence Hoke Shelander. On Sept. 26, 1992, in Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Olean, N.Y., he married Kathleen L. Graves, who passed away on Nov. 20, 2021.
Mr. Shelander was a 1987 graduate of Otto-Eldred High School, and later graduated from Williamsport Community College, with a degree in heating and air conditioning.
Mark was employed by Market Basket Stores, Stroehmann's Bakery in Olean, and for the last 20 years, Frito-Lay Corporation.
Mark had attended St. Raphael's Church in Eldred. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowboarding, golfing, gardening and classic cars, as well as making maple syrup. He also greatly enjoyed vacationing with his family and hanging out with his friends.
Surviving are his father, Ken Shelander of Eldred; two daughters, Chelsea Lynn Shelander of Enfield, Conn. and Alyssa Leigh Shelander of Eldred; a brother, Kenny Shelander of Eldred; two nieces, Jordan and Brooke Burdick; a nephew, Travis (Sara) Aderman; as well as several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Florence Shelander in 2019; two nephews, Ryan Aderman and D.J. Aderman.
Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Eldred United Methodist Church, South Main Street, Eldred. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday (Nov. 24, 2021) with the Fr. Thomas Brown and Vicar Gerry Zimmerman, co-officiating. Burial will be in the St. Raphael Cemetery in Eldred.

Had the privilege of working with Kathy at Cutco for many years. My heart is saddened at the news of her and Mark´s passing. I got to know her Mom and Dad by serving them coffee at the Masonic Fish Frys in Shinglehouse. Also worked with Alyssa and Chelsea in the shipping department at Cutco. I can still see Kathy´s big grin whenever we spoke about them.
As I am retired and living a distance away I regretfully will not be able to attend the services.
