Our final good bye Carla. However you and your family will never be forgotten. We will miss our New Years Eve dinners in Lincoln. We will keep in touch with Bruce, and if we can ever be of help to your family we will be there. Dear Bruce, Cookie, and Family,
Deepest condolences on the passing of your beloved wife and daughter, my former classmate and friend from St. Joseph's, Beatrice, NE. Lots of fond memories of Carla. Such a beautiful voice! Denny and I were privileged to have her sing at our wedding Feb. 27, 1965. We will never forget her "Ave Maria."
We were in Prague when we saw the sad e-mail announcing Carla' death, so we made a special trip to the Infant Jesus of Prague church to say prayers for the sweet repose of her soul.

Carla was a great person to talk to know matter what was on your mind. She was a very caring person and would always smile and ask how things were. She really did make a difference in the life of many young people and I know that was a source of joy to her. She will be missed.

I had intended to contact her about the coming reunion. Now, she will be missing and be missed. She was very special in the way we shared our intense caring for our patients. Although we did not know Carla Beardmore-Harding personally, we have known several of the Beardmore family members for 30+ years. At the visitation yesterday, we saw so many people who knew her and will miss her, and it brings to mind a quote from Jackie Robinson. I have such a wonderful picture in my mind of Carla the last time I saw her. It was at our class reunion in 2005...she looked gorgeous and I shared my thought on that with her. We sat next to each other at dinner and had such a good time! And that is the way I choose to remember her.

Carla was such an inspiration to us when we lost our son, Stephen, in 2001. She had us speak to her HALT class each year and made a special point to remember Stephen and all the positive things he accomplished in his shorten life. Carla was such a positive force in the HALT classrrom and we admired her greatly. We know she has touched many lives and left solid footprints for other to follow. She was a wonderful person and will be missed greatly. But we were BLESSED to have her in our life. Carla, pray for us and we will pray for you and merrily we will meet in heaven. We hope Stephen was there to greet you.

Hi, Carla! :) You had one of the biggest impacts on my life... you transformed me from a little girl into a responsible woman. I looked up to you a lot for all of your own transformations, and how you were able to enlighten young people to do the same as you. You touched the lives of so many people. I remember first meeting you, I couldn't stand you. But then I realized you not only knew me better than half the people I talked to on a regular basis, you helped me more than any of the Westsider's did. I first met Carla (Mrs. Harding) in 1969 when she came to Gretna, NE to teach music. She was young and pretty, with a beautiful voice. I LOVED her as a teacher...and friend. Carla - I so regret not getting together all those times we talked about it, but never seemed to find the time. You were such a support to me during a tough time both professionally and personally. You always inspired me to be a better person and counselor. You gave so much to others and I will never forget your wall devoted to students lost to drugs and alcohol. Carla, even though we didn’t keep much contact after high school, except for an occasional e-mail or class reunion, I have such fond memories that come to mind: The nights I went to your house for you to help me with studies (YOU certainly didn’t need it); the occasional slumber party at my house you could attend; the long walks we had because neither of us could get our father’s cars very often; the double date you arranged for me (I can’t remember his name), when he bought me a bag of popcorn and I thought I had to eat it all, but you leaned over and said I didn’t have to eat it all –I was disturbing the movie! Oh, the noon hours at St. Joe School when you taught me simple dances and movements to music as well as accompanying you on the piano with a little “Blue Moon” or “Chop-Sticks” to play with your elaborate music on the other side of the piano. Once you thanked me for showing you how to accent the bottom eyelashes with mascara. We had lots of laughs! Bruce and family I wish to offer my sincere condolences to you. Also, to ‘Cookie’ Beardmore. I am truly saddened for your loss and I will keep each of you in my prayers as well as pray for eternal rest for the soul of Carla.

My cousin Carla! We never really got to know each other very well once my family moved from Kansas to Texas, but I have fond memories of Carla...I got the most amazing email from Carla when my dad was sick and dying. It was such a blessing to me, and helped me a lot. As I sit here this evening and read all these wonderful tributes to Carla, I am not surprised by the kind of loving, caring, giving person that she was. I know she will be missed by so many. Carla, you were not only my mentor, but my friend. You were also family in my eyes. Like a favorite Aunt, who watched over me and gave me advice and love. It is amazing how one woman can change so many lives. I only had the privileged of speaking to Mrs. Beardmore-Harding once, when I interviewed her for a class. My twenty minute interview was enough time to be truly inspired by her. It was very clear to me that she loved what she did, and she really cared about all the kids at my school. I am deeply saddened by her passing, and all my thoughts go out to her family.

I always loved having her there to talk to if times were rough, she always treated me as a person rather than a student. She made my day better when i would go to school and see her there she always had a smile on her face at all times. I know that heaven recieved a great angel, and shell still be watching us all. I am so sorry for your loss she will be truly loved and missed. I will never forget her or the impact she had on my life! R.I.P Carla
