Goodbye, my friend....From study hall laughter in high school to summer bike riding to being a friend for over 40 years, I will never forget you. My sympathy to the family and a special thank you for sharing Gary with all of us, as he always had time for a friend. May you rest in peace, Gary. I will miss the special friendship, emails, pictures and laughter.

I am so sorry to Gary's family for your great loss. Gary and I were cousins and born a day apart. I grew up with the story that our moms were "stuck" in the LeMars hospital with us after our birth(s) during an Iowa blizzard. I always considered Gary to be a very special friend, no matter how long it was between the times we saw each other or communicated. Reading these comments, I realize that Gary had a way of making everyone feel that they had a special friendship with him. He was a gifted artist with a passion for music, but his greatest passion was clearly people, and we all benefited. Thanks, Gary.

My sympathies to Gary's family. Grew up spending time with Gary and his family in Marcus. Gary visited me and took me to a Bob Dylan concert in Omaha when I was at Creighton. Always amazed by his artistic abilities. Sad to see him pass so young.
