Sleepy Eye, MN. Died on June 5, 2013 at the Sleepy Eye Medical Center. Michael was born on December 4, 1950 in St. Paul, MN, the son of Richard E. and Mercedes E. (Liebman) Ecker. He lived in West St. Paul until he graduated from the College of St. Thomas. Michael then attended Creighton Medical School in Omaha, NE. He completed his Family Practice Residency at Creighton Medical Center. Michael married Charlene M. Piskac on July 14, 1979 in Omaha. He joined the Sleepy Eye Medical Clinic in July 1980, where he has been a Family Practice Physician until his death. He has been a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, and the Church of St. Mary's in New Ulm. He enjoyed his 2 basset hounds, gardening, trains, and old cars. He also enjoyed his travels to Mexico, the Disney Parks, and visits with his daughters and their families. He is survived by his wife, Charlene Ecker of Sleepy Eye; daughters, Katherine (Eric) Myers, Albuquerque, NM, Carolyn (Curt) Kemmerer, Maquoketa, IA, Mary (Robert) Meyers, Miami, FL, and Christine Ecker, Lauderdale, MN; mother, Mercedes Ecker, West St. Paul; granddaughter, Alexandria Myers; brother, Richard M. Ecker, West St. Paul; sister, Carol (David) Bealke, Stillwater, MN; 2 nieces; 1 nephew; and brother-in-law, Emil Paskac. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Ecker; and sisters-in-law, Mary Ecker and Carol Paskac.
