Reiko Askvig was born on 4th of March, 1931, a devoted wife, cherished mother, and beloved grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2024. Reiko was born in Japan and grew up in Yamaguchi. She lived and worked in Tokyo where she met the love of her life, Kent Askvig. Reiko was a pillar of strength and compassion, always putting her family first.
Reiko is survived by her son, Richard (Kimberly) Askvig; her grandchildren, Andrew Van Horn, Celeste Askvig, Taryn Askvig, Emeric Askvig; and her brother, Tatsuro Yoshida. Reiko was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kent Askvig and her brothers, Yoshisuke Yoshida and Kyoji Yoshida.
A CELEBRATION of Reiko Askvig's life will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Omaha National Cemetery.
Reiko's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
