Robert Buchanan Obituary

BUCHANAN-Robert H. Buchanan, 86, Omaha, passed away, 4/6/07. He was born
11/5/20 at Mason City, IA to Anna and Orla Buchanan. A brother, Glen, preceded him in death. Robert is survived by wife, Virginia; daughter, Diana; son, Steven; and many nephews and cousins. Bob enlisted in the Navy in 1942 for World War II. He spent three years overseas as 1st Class Petty Officer on LST 360. Bob worked 45 years for Standard Oil and Amoco Oil Co. He loved scouting, fishing and boating. He is a member of Lions Club, American Legion, Post 374, Eagles and Trinity United Methodist Church where he spent many years singing in the choir.
Funeral Services will be at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home Tues., 4/10/07, at 3 PM. Entombment will follow at the Hillcrest Mausoleum. WESTLAWN-HILLCREST

I didn't know the Buchanans well but enjoyed them when they attended Sunset Hills Baptist Church in Omaha. Although it was hard for Bob to get around he always stepped aside for me to go in front of him. It should have been the other way around as I am in a chair and have no discomfort waiting for him to pass. I'll miss him.
