Hugh Farr Obituary

Pawleys Island, S.C. - Hugh Manson 'Tommy' Farr, age 87, of Litchfield Plantation died Friday, October 17, 2003 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Born September 7, 1916 in Thompson, Ga. he was the son of the late James Jay and Viola Davis Farr. He was a graduate of Athens High School and attended the University of Georgia. Col. Farr had 25 years of active duty in the United States Air Force during WWII and Korea. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in October of 1963. During his military career he received 2 Bronze Stars, the Korean Service Medal, the American Defense Medal, the National Defense Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the WWII Victory Medal, the UN Ribbon and the Pre-Pearl Harbor Defense Medal. Col Farr was a former partner in the Litchfield Real Estate Co. and later owned Hugh M. Farr Real Estate. He was one of the 6 original founders of Litchfield Country Club and was a member of the Retired Officers Association, Air Force Association and Retired Officers Club.
Survivors include his wife, Ray Elwell Farr; one daughter, Cynthia Farr Muldrow of Taylors, SC; three grandchildren, Joseph Edward 'Tripp' Muldrow, III and wife Gina of Greenville, SC, Christopher Hugh Muldrow and his wife Tamara of Warrenton, VA., Benjamin McBride Muldrow of Taylors, SC and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held 11:00 am, Monday, October 20, 2003 at Lakeside Cemetery.
Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
