I was deeply shocked & saddened to hear about David's passing. I met him in the fall of 1991 @ Georgia College. He is one of the most admirable guys I've ever known. He was always so sweet & kind. He was such a great guy!!!! He will be dearly missed.

Betty, Jimmy, Erin, Evan and Ginny

I cannot find the words to convey how saddened I was to learn of David. I am not surprised to see so many who were moved by his presence. He was a fine young man, the kind of son, husband and father that one hopes for. My prayers are with you. God bless you all.

To all the Marbut family- I remember David as a great guy from high school who was always one of the hardest working players on the football and baseball field and just a good example to others. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Erin,
I know that there is little that I can do to help make this any better. When I read this quote and thought of David, "I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therfore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now; let me not defer or neglect it; for I shall not pass this way again."- Ettiene de Grellet. If you need anything me and Amy and your Kroger family are here for you.

On behalf of the Athens Academy Class of '91, I offer our sincere condolences to Jimmy, Betty, Kirk, Erin, Evan, and Ginny.

I am thankful to have had the opportunity to grow up with David. He was a special member of our class of 51. He was such a sweet, kind, & loyal friend with a quiet, gentle, and generous spirit. He always exhibited great enthusiasm as he represented the spirit of the school through athletics, pep rallies, and other school activities. He was always the first to pitch in and help the class when called upon with a generous and kind heart.
He was admired by all of his classmates and will be dearly missed.

Sincerely and with deep sadness,
Carol Franklin
