Brenda Cameron Obituary

**In Loving Memory of Mrs. Brenda Sue Cameron**
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mrs. Brenda Sue Miller Cameron, age 81, beloved widow of Bobby Joe Cameron, of 1500 Mt. Tabor Church Rd., Jonesville, S.C., who left us on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026.
Born on July 13, 1944, in Chester, S.C., Brenda was the daughter of the late James Oscar Miller and Florence Eloise Ashe Miller. After completing high school, she dedicated several years to working in textiles as a weaver. However, when her children grew older, Brenda returned to continue her education at Isothermal Community College, where she proudly earned her Associate's degree. Her commitment to academic excellence was highlighted by her membership in the Phi Theta Kappa Society.
Brenda's love for her community shone brightly during her time in the Lockhart area, where she served as Town Clerk, volunteered at the local school, contributed to the annual Christmas lights celebrations, and was a supporter of the Lockhart Volunteer Fire Department. Her passion for children was evident not only in her own family but also through her support of children's charities, including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Shriner's Children's Hospital and 101heros.org. An avid genealogist, Brenda enjoyed traveling both domestically and internationally to explore her family heritage. She was a devoted member of the Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church.
Brenda is lovingly remembered by her son, Scott Cameron, and his husband, Francis Rualo, of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; her granddaughter, Ashley Lynne Gill Sanders, and her husband, Michael, of Lockhart; her great-grandchildren, Cameron Gill, Charles Gill, and Logan Castle and her great-great-grandchildren, Weston Maness, River Ferguson, and Jamie Dawn Kerr. She also leaves behind her sister, Morine Davis, and brothers, Lemond Miller, Mike Miller, and Ronnie Miller (Martha).
Brenda was predeceased by her daughter, Judy Lynne Cameron Gill, and her brother, Robert Miller.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026, at Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Sam Bain. Burial followed at the Zion Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Chester, S.C. The family welcomed friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
The family wishes to express profound gratitude for the compassionate care provided to Brenda by Cindy, Brittney and Rev. Norris from MSA Hospice of Union, as well as Betty from Visiting Angels of Duncan. Special thanks are extended to Ashley Sanders, Charles Gill, and Cameron Gill for their unwavering support and daily care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Cameron's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105; Shriner's Children Hospital, 950 W Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605; or 101Heroes.org.
The family invites friends to gather at their home, located at 1500 Mt. Tabor Church Rd., Jonesville, S.C., during this difficult time.
