Whenever I look back on our years in grade school, I always remember a kid who was nice to me and always so kind and helpful to the Sisters. As a grown up, I dearly loved Dave's political views (as they matched mine!) and was so impressed with how kind and generous he was with everything. I know he was a super busy guy with so many things going, but he always made me feel like he had time to talk and was always so very kind. He talked so much about Annie and Rachel and how super proud he was of them. I miss my friend so much and he will never ever be forgotten. Thank you Dave and Sally for all you do for so many! I appreciate you always!

My Uncle Dave was absolutely the best and will be incredibly missed.
What I loved most about him was his laugh. He was so funny and when he thought you were funny you got rewarded by one of his deep belly laughs.
I'm also going to miss our dueling itunes rounds where we would play our own version name that tune by playing a snippet of a song. And I'm going to miss being fact checked by his quick google searches when I would spout off some random trivia.
Most of all, I'm going to miss sitting out back by the fire, hearing about his life while he checked in about mine- watching the stars, watching the deer walk by and listening for owls.
Sally, Annie, Rachael and Russ - my thoughts and my heart is with you always, but especially during this time. XOXOXO Angie

I am so grateful to this wonderful man for giving me a chance. And believing in me. He was my very first client and without his support and encouragement it is very likely that I may never have got a start. He made everything possible for me and I will forever remember his kindness and generosity. Please accept my condolences for your loss. I hope that the Bany and Boyle families can find comfort in the fond and cherished memories you have to assuage your grief.

So sad to hear of Dave's passing. I knew Dave back in the 1980's during electronic engineer courses as classmates. Always friendly, had a nick name for everyone, a gift of humor that made everyone smile....Remembering great times waterskiing in the Willamette along with his wife Sally. Kept his cars shiny (a red mustang and a old fairlane, I recall).
A true genuine down to earth person, he was. My condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.

I worked with Dave and Sally 30 plus years ago when they opened their first shop below the Oddfellows Lodge in the Sellwood area. Sally did the buying and Dave took care of the business on the computer. He always was kind and warm and great to work with. Those memories are cherished. Sally, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. With sympathy, Ted Carlson

On behalf of the Board of Directors of Youth Music Project and World of Speed we want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to you Dave (and to Sally) for having the confidence in us to carry out your vision for both organizations. Please know that we will do our best to continue to:
1. Raise funds for kids in Clackamas County to have the experience of music, even if they can't afford it
2. Raise funds for children and high school students to attend WOS classes, and to continue to bring spectacular motorsport exhibits
Dave we will miss your keen listening skills, your subtle ability to summarize our enthusiastic discussions, and your quiet wit and focus on the missions. Thanks for your trust in us - we know you'll be watching our progress from the best seat in the house.
For Dave, it wasn't just his love of cars or the twang of a well-tuned guitar. Dave was passionate about children, about our community and finding ways to inspire learning whether it be a spark plug and internal combustion or how to inspire the self-confidence in a young person to stand in front of an audience and play a musical instrument like a rock star. Dave Bany along with Sally, his wife and his family saw the need and had the vision to create World of Speed and Youth Music Project; two amazing facilities and non-profit programs that continue to teach and inspire. Dave has shared with us the lesson of giving back to our community and to pay it forward by unselfishly creating these centers of learning and creativity. We are honored to have worked alongside Dave and his family and will continue to foster his vision forward.

Dave Bany was an excellent leader, mentor, and human being. My time spent working with him helped me grow and develop in each of these areas. Whether he was offering comic relief or guidance, when he spoke, everyone listened. He was a man of great character, and he instilled that character in those around around him. He created a legacy that will continue to have a positive impact on individuals, families and communities for several generations to come. Dave will be missed by so many. I send my most sincere condelonces and best wishes to the family. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I was in shock when I heard the sad news. I remember how a couple that met in high school got married, worked in their business putting in long hours, then went home together and spent time raising Rachael and Annie. I loved hearing Dave talk about how and when they met at softball games when Rachael was pitching on a team with our daughters. On those very hot days when Rachael was pitching, Dave would come with ice cold sodas and water in coolers for everyone to enjoy. He enjoyed making sure everyone was comfortable. He was always willing to say hi. Sending much love to Sally, Rachael and Annie hugs and prayers. Rest easy Dave.

The World has lost a wonderful humanitarian. You could spend just a brief time with Dave, and see that he always put others first. He didn't have an arrogant bone in his body. One of the most humble men I have ever met. He had a lot of the traits that Jesus Christ displayed. That is a true Christian. We feel so honored, and blessed to have known Dave. Our hearts go out to his family. A terrible loss.
