Andre Jakubowski Obituary

Jakubowski, MD, Andre died on May 10th, 2016, after a courageous battle with Brain cancer. He was born in Poznan, Poland, relocating to the USA to continue his life long career practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is survived by his wife, Bernadette, his children, Justyna Nosek, (Milan), Paul (Olga Yarr), Andre and Rachel, two grandchildren, Sophia & Nicholas, and many family members in Poland. Dr. Jakubowski, loved the ocean, his dogs, music, reading, working in his yard, visiting with friends and family and sharing his quick wit as he served the Winter Park Hospital community. He will be greatly missed by colleagues and his long term office manager, Carol Daniels. Private services pending.

Twenty four years later and his kindness still brings tears to my eyes. I was 19 and terrified and he made me feel so safe and cared for. This man was had a magical ability for his craft and he left that mark on the people he cared for. Thank you Dr. J. Twenty four years later.

I am so saddened to hear of Dr. J's passing. I looked him up on a whim after thinking about how blessed I am that he brought my son Jayden into this world safely, along with the wonderful winter park memorial nurses in 1999.
I thought his children and grandchildren might like to know that the child he brought into this world is a nuclear propulsion engineer on a submarine in service to the US Navy. Thank you dr. Jakubowski. Rest in peace.

Sad to read of his passing, he was a wonderful and caring Dr. He was with me for surgery in December 2003 and held my hand until the anesthesia worked, because my ex left me alone scared. He was my daughter's Dr for her first baby, today 15 years old ....I will always remember. Thank you Dr Jakubowski, was a placer meeting you.

Dr. Jak was a Great Doctor,

He saved not only my life but also my daughter life 15 years ago. Due to my high risk pregnancy. He was a very kind, funny and gentle Man. I am Blessed to have him as my Doctor as my "Angel"..

Best Dr I ever had! He delivered my 2 kids, my son and daughter now 28 and 23. He had a big heart and also very funny. So sad to hear of his passing. Condolences to his wife and family.

Dr. Jakubowski was an excellent ob-gyn. His bedside manner was great. He was so calming for me with all my worries during my first pregnancy. I´ll never forget how he patted my hand & calmed me down. He delivered all 3 of my children. Last one by c-section. He was the best! I´m so sorry to learn that he has passed. Belated condolences to his family.

I am so surprised to see this Dr J delivered my son 22 years ago. I remember crying in his office because I told him I was on diet pills & I didn't know I was pregnant. He reassured me that the baby would be ok. And now my son is soon to graduate from college. I will never forget him and how he cared for me during my pregnancy. My condolences to his family

I have been searching for information about my Dr. J since he retired. I owe him my life. He literally saved my life on three (3) separate occasions! He was my doctor for more than 30 years. Dr. J was the epitome of what a great doctor should look like. He will forever be in my heart.

Omg I'm just seeing this . I am so saddened to see this. He was the BEST DOCTOR I have ever encountered. I've been coming to his practice since I was 16 and I'm 32 now. He was always respectful and very considerate about his patients feelings. Bless up Dr jakubowski. I've been searching high and low to come to your practice again but today I was very sad to see this. I will definitely send a much needed prayer to heaven for you.

Hei was a great Doctor, he was always very positive and when I would walk in that room no matter how big I felt he would say you look beautiful in that polish accent. Dr. J was an amazing man. He cared for all of his patients with all of his heart. He never liked to see any of him mothers cry and I was a crier. Although I had a tough pregnancy with both my babies, Dr. J made the experience a memorable one. When I had to go to hospital weekly due to early contractions, Dr. J always came to check on me no matter what time. He went out of his way for me and my babies. He will always have a special place in my heart. When he told me about his illness, I cried (something he hated) I always think of him when I am at Winter Park Hospital. R.I.P Dr. J.

I'll never forget the look on Dr. Jakubowski's face at that 5 month visit. He sent me for tests and then took amazing care of me thru the rest of my TWIN pregnancy. He and his office loved seeing pictures of them every year thereafter. They are now a successful adults, a middle school band director and a businessman. Dr. J was a wonderful person and credit to his profession. I wish his family comfort in knowing how much he meant to our family among countless others. The Lopez family of Winter Park.

I think it wa about 19 years ago I met Dr. Jakubowski. I was in the ER for my first pregnancy and it was ectopic. My other doctor who was new to me was out of town and Dr. Jak was sent to help me. They could either move me to another hospital or I could stay and he could help me. I stayed. He saved me and became my doctor. I went on to have my oldest, Nicholas, a year and a half later. Then 2 years later in a routine check up he found a huge ovarian mass and performed immediate emergency surgery which saved me again and what was left of my fertility. Several miscarriages later he helped me through. Eventually I became pregnant with twins, and there he was delivering them one by one, perfect and healthy. He was such a wonderful doctor. Later I learned that he was sick and retiring, and I have kept checking on him for years. I just saw that he passed away. So sad. I cried. He was a great man. My deepest condolences to his family. I will never forget the sound of his clogs that night in the ER, and his "Push push push' in his Polish accent while delivering my babies. My children would not be here if not for him and I am eternally grateful for his loving care. God bless and may he rest in peace.

I too cried when Dr. J. informed me of his illness and impending retirement. I hope and pray he had some happy and fulfilling days of enjoyment from then until his passing. He saved my life and I am, and always will be, eternally grateful for his kindness, his care, his professionalism and expertise. To his family, colleagues, friends and patients ~ we all know we were fortunate to have him touch our lives. God bless.

Dr J delivered both of my children. He started taking care of me in 1988 and continued until the day he told me about his tumor and he was retiring. I cried and cried that day with him at the office. Thinking that he not only brought my kids into this world but he saved my life with an emergency c section with my first and my second was a high risk miracle baby. He was with me every step of the way. He was an amazing man that touched so many lives in so many different ways. My mother, sister, niece and two daughters went to him. He is family to us. I pray for your family and that you find peace in the stories and love that are shared here. What a gift he was to us all and I will forever cherish the bond that we had. It was much more then patient and physician. He saved my life I will never forget that. He is loved and will be greatly missed here On earth. Until we meet again....

Dr. J brought 3 of my children into this world. I am forever grateful to him for my children and the compassion and support her gave me when my son Jason died from SIDS 7 weeks after he came into this world. Without him and his staff I don't think I would have survived. He will forever be in my heart for the caring, gentle man he was. To his family and friends my hope for you all is that the sweet memories you have of this wonderful man bring you some measure of peace.

Charlie and I are so sad to learn that Dr. Jakubowski has passed. We wish to send our condolences to Bernadette, the family and Carol. Dr. Jakubowski was a wonderful doctor and person. All four of our children were delivered by him, beginning in 1989. He provided excellent care to our entire family and network of friends - delivering many babies for us over the years. He was a very special man who touched the lives of so many in a genuine and positive way. We loved him and will cherish the memories we have of him.

Both Susan and myself were saddened by the passing of Dr.Jakubowski and send our prayers to Bernadette and family. Dr.Jakubowski was a fellow colleague whom I had the honor and pleasure to know. His wit knew no bounds and his interest in world issues was always refreshing. He was and outstanding obstetrician and surgeon whose life experiences were truly amazing. His patients all loved the unconditional care he gave them. All nurses and physicians at Winter Park Hospital will miss him greatly.

I was so sad to read this! Without Dr. Jakubowski neither my son nor I would be here as my labor and delivery had difficulties, so I am grateful he was my doctor.
