Fred Tramell Obituary

Tramell, Fred H. Fred Harrison Tramell, 49, of Sanford, Fl, died on Tuesday, January 12, 2010. Born in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Major Joe Reynolds Tramell and the late Alice Bradford Tramell. He grew up in Lake Mary and graduated from Seminole High School, served in the US Army, attended the University of Florida and graduated from the University of Central Florida, with a Masters in Applied Economics. He went on to teach Economics at UCF and then opened his own practice specializing in Forensic Economics. He was an active volunteer in the community, particularly with the Lisa Merlin House and Holy Cross Episcopal Church where he served as treasurer. He enjoyed all outdoor activities, especially boating, and engaging in the art of intellectual conversation. He was the loving husband of Juddy and father of Abigail. He is also survived by sisters, Alice (Carl) Kalota, Cincinnati, Ohio; Susan Tramell, Richmond Virginia; and brother, Joe (Wendy) Tramell, Orlando. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Holy Cross Episcopal Church, 410 So. Magnolia Ave., Sanford, Fl. 32771, on Monday, January 18, at 11:00 am. Private interment will follow service. I am shocked and saddened to hear of Fred's passing. My prayers are for Fred, Juddy, Abigail and the rest of the family and close friends.

I met Fred as a young teenager while roaming the orange tree-lined streets of Idlewild and Loch Arbor. Our group had some great times in orange fights, fishing and skim boarding on the lakes of Loch Arbor and the like. Fred was a tough guy who later became a friend.

It was great to see Fred later in life at the many Seminole High Class of '78 reunions - the last time two summers ago in Make Mary. We ribbed each other because of our college affiliations (Fred, at UCF, and myself, at Troy).

He will be missed.

Judy stay close to God no matter what and remember that the answer to all things is time and that is in Gods time. Fred was a friend and mentor for 16 years of my life and spent countless unselfish hours helping me concour the enemies within so the enemies outside could not hurt me .Most of this was accomplished by keeping me pointed toward God.Fred is a man whom I have always looked up to and will continue to do so, I'll just have to look a little higher.

It is so sad to hear about Fred's passing. I truly enjoyed working with him out at UCF and he even helped me become involved at the Lisa Merlin House where I had the great fortune of meeting and working with Judy and all the other kind folks there. Fred was so supportive and helpful to people, was full of knowledge and good ideas, and was also a great listener. Fred would constantly encourage others to take on new challenges. He was a good friend who I will always remember and will miss.

The Merlin Family is truly saddened by the lose of a wonderful, funny, kind, giving and very generous man. There wasnt anything Fred or Judy woudnt do for the less fortunate. Fred was the Treasurer and President of the Board of Directors for Lisa Merlin House for quite some time and constantly gave of himself and his time. His wife Judy was the sweetest lady you'll ever want to meet. When I heard of his loss early this morning i was in shock as was the entire family and all those involved. We love the Trammel family and may you all get plenty of love and relief from God. Love the Merlin Family

Juddy and Fred's family,

There are so many of us who are absolutely shattered by the news of Fred's death. Fred was one of my favorite people---always helping other people and so brilliant and funny. I was so inspired by all of the volunteer work he did and "got talked into" doing some of the same things. I will miss him and will never stop thinking about him. Juddy and Abigail, he adored you and I know you will miss him forever. I hope you can find some comfort in the support and love of all of us who surround you at this time.
