I has been a blessing to know and love Mr. Hasel. My favorite thing I will miss is his insightful assistance with Pastor Roger's sermons. We were all blessed to have known him.

I want to offer my sympathy to the family. I remember Rev. and Mrs. Hasel very clearly from the early 50's (I was born 1945) when my grandmother, Elsie Settle, sang in the Oakley Baptist choir and I attended the Sunday School. Although I am less sure of this, my memory tells me David and Joy were the first two children. Rev. Hasel baptized me at my request when I was only about 8 years old, after coming to our home to talk to my mother. The Andersons, who lived on Markbreit Avenue, and the Bakers, were two families who attended regularly in those years. The Andersons' daughter was a pretty young woman who sang in the choir and had a beautiful voice. David Shively was a boy my age who attended Sunday School and stayed for church services, as I did. The face of my sweet Sunday School teacher is very clear in my mind, but her name has gone. We moved to Dayton, Ohio, in 1956 and I missed Oakley Baptist. I hope all of Rev. Hasel's family and close friends will be comforted by their many memories.

Fellowship was blessed to have John as part of our body. We absolutely cherished and will miss what he continually brought to the teaching. It was evident he loved The Lord and we certainly love and will miss John.
