Kimberly Baxter Obituary

Baxter, Kimberly Kimmyage 40, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015 in Orlando, Florida. She was born on April 11, 1975 in Orlando, youngest of three girls to Karen and Bubba Baxter. From day one, she was full of spirit and had an infectious laugh that brought joy to all who knew her. Kim's lifelong love of dance began at the age of four when she first started at the Royal Ballet School of Dance. She was chosen for all three Companies: Junior, Apprentice, and Senior in her ten plus years at Royal Ballet. She danced several roles in the annual production of The Nutcracker, highlighted by her "en pointe" solo as Columbine the Doll when she was just ten years old. She later danced for the Southern Ballet Company. Kimmy graduated from Warner Christian Academy in Daytona Beach in 1993, and attended the University of Alabama. An automobile accident permanently injured her back, curtailing her dancing, but never her spirit. Her creativity was apparent in her bright, warm and inviting home and the plants and flowers she nurtured. She also loved cooking, especially baking trays of Christmas treats for her beloved nieces and nephew. She often referred to "Harry," her hairless cat, as her 'main man.' He brought her loving heart much joy. Kim was a true people person as well. She had great style, was sassy, fun, and full of life. We will forever miss her beautiful face and vivacious wit. One of Kim's favorite quotes "Surround yourself with people who clearly love your light… and add to it!" She did that for all who knew her. Kimberly was predeceased by her father James Robert Baxter. She is survived by her mother Karen Granstrom and stepfather Bob Granstrom; sisters Kelly Tiley (Matt) and Robin Baxter; nieces Caroline Moore, Emily Pleasant, Madyn Tiley; and nephew Hunter Moore. The family will be receiving friends Sunday, December 13, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home on Lake Ivanhoe. We invite you to join us to celebrate this special woman on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 11:00 am at Killarney Baptist Church, 701 Formosa Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32789. Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Winter Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Back to Nature Wildlife Refuge, 10525 Clapp Simms Duda Road, Orlando, FL 32832.

Kimmie Was my roommate a Crossroads. She was absolutely fantastic. I loved her to death, perfect roomie. Though I was 6 years older than her we connected immediately and kept in touch for awhile after our departures from Antigua. I always wanted to visit her, when my husband and I had the chance to move to Orlando for a job, I immediately tried to contact my friend. I sadly learned of her tragic demise. I'm saddened greatly by the loss and my heart and love goes out to her family . Bless her in heaven. Sincerely Tracy Hoelscher, Rockford IL

I remember Kimmy from middle school and high school years. She had a bubbly personality and I loved hearing her talk about her dancing and working with her on school projects as assigned. She will always be remembered for the light she brought to the world.

To Karen, Kelly and Robin,

My love and deepest condolences go out to the three of you, and your families.

During my ten years as the manager of the "Miss J" shop in the Winter Park Jacobsons, I watched Kelly, Robin and Kimberly grow up. Although I left Jacobsons almost twenty four years ago, I still remember Kimberly as vividly as if it were yesterday. The four of you were a constant and welcome presence, as you popped in and out of Jacs. You were far more than loyal customers, becoming part of our extended Jacobsons family, as we all considered you to be.

Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers, and that Kimberly will never be forgotten.

Dear Karen, Kelly and Robin, I remember seeing Kimmy perform in the Nutcracker along with my children,Samantha and Andy who Kelly babysat for. It was around 1986. She was delightful and the kids were elated that there was someone on stage that they knew. Your family was very dear to us in our 8 years in Orlando and I am so sorry that Kimmy is gone and that you three are having to once again grieve in this way. Hold tight to each other and never let go. You ARE special people. Andrea Lucas AKA Andrea Edwards.

I loved Kim from the first time I met her in Miss Trulock's 1st grade class at Lake Silver. I am so thankful for her and for all the precious memories of being in her home and growing up with her and going on walks together in our adult years. She was the kindest, most hilarious person. I miss her and am thankful for all those dances and routines she patiently *tried* to teach me. My thoughts and prayers are with her wonderful family. Love,

To the Baxter and Granstrom families I express my deepest condolences.

I knew Kim for many years and we shared a lot of fun times. Together she & I picked up "Harry" her beloved Sphynx cat. Harry was the best little buddy she could have had.

Kim, I wish you peace and happiness for your eternal life. I will always remember your smile and your smile on a stick.

Rest in peace Kimmy
