Herbert R. Stewart

1931 - 2025

Herbert R. Stewart, age 93, passed away at Ascension Mercy Hospital on February 13, 2025. He was born to the late Walter and Charlotte (Fink) Stewart on November 3, 1931, in Oshkosh, WI. He married Marjorie Malkowsky on October 11, 1958.

He graduated from Oshkosh High School and went on to join the US Navy then worked for many years with the Oshkosh Fire Department.

Herbert was an avid hunter, especially white tail deer, he spent many years going to historical encampment events with his family. He enjoyed taking long walks in the park with his dog, Minne Ha-Ha, gardening and archaeology.

Herbert is survived by his wife, Marjorie; son, Russ Stewart; daughter, Lynne Stewart; grandson, Shannon Bartow and Joshua Stewart as well as his great-grandchildren, Zoey Bartow, Zane Lowmen, and Parker Stewart and dog, Minnie Ha-Ha.

In addition to his parents, Herbert was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Stewart and sister, Joyce Spooner.

A memorial service for Herbert will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church (370 Bowen) on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 1PM. A time of visitation will be held from noon until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking if you can give a small donation to help with funeral expenses.
