Phyllis Davis Obituary
She was born to John & Alice Monahan in Shawano on August 17, 1924, the fifth of 12 children. She married Dale A. Davis at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Berlin on November 29, 1945. Phyllis and Dale raised their six children, Mike, Dan, Joan, Beth, Rita & Janet, in Omro.
Phyllis was a teacher in the Omro School District for over 40 years, retiring in 1986. She started her teaching career in a one room schoolhouse. In her later years, she volunteered at Mercy Medical Center and HB Patch School. She was also a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Omro and enjoyed the weekly Rosary led by Jim at the Country Villa over the past 6 years.
Phyllis loved sports of any kind, both watching and participating, having played on the Omro Speed Queen women's softball team, bowling at Omro Lanes, golfing, watching the Brewers and Bucks and also following the athletics of her children & grandchildren. She especially enjoyed following the Omro Foxes. There was not an event going on in Omro that Phyllis did not attend.
She is survived by her children, Mike (Mary) Davis – Monroe, Dan (Barb) Davis – Omro, Beth (Terry) Redmann - Butte des Morts, Rita (Dave) Kratz – Omro and Janet (Dale) Wegner – Omro;
15 grandchildren, Kim (Tony) Anderson, Ryan Kratz, Bryan (Dawn) Davis, Brigitte (John Pintozzi) Lenz, Danielle (Dale) Cook, Brett (Amy) Davis, Quinn (Jason) Easton, Nicole Kratz, J (Lis) Lenz, Rob (Brenda) Davis, Pat Davis, Meghan (Will) Cronan, Tim Lenz and David (Erika) Wegner; 24 great-grandchildren, Kayla Kiefer, Lauren Davis, Madisen Davis, Aliyah Davis, Will Davis, Audrey Davis, Sam Davis, Bella Davis, Mac Davis, Robert Cronan, Liam Cronan, Mark Anderson, Tyler Anderson, Carson Cook, Damon Davis, Tenleigh Davis, Hannah Millard, Brice Easton, Kallen Easton, Madeline Kratz, Payton Kratz, Della Ferguson, Arlo Ferguson and Veda Wegner; 6 great-great grandchildren, Charlee, Oaklee and Roree Millard, Weston and Lainey Anderson and Parker Anderson; sisters, Shirley Resheski and Darlene (Gilbert) Krentz; and sister-in-law, Jeanne Davis Gay; as well as many other family and friends.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Dale Davis; daughter, Joan Lenz; brothers, Kermit, Keith, Hugh, Jim, Phil, Merle and Pat; and sisters, Delores Fisher and Beverly Johnston.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church of Omro, 730 Madison Ave, Omro, WI 54963, from 9:00am to 11:00 am, with Mass to start at 11:00 am. Her final resting place will be at Omro Cemetery, next to her husband and daughter.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to the Omro Library, Omro Food Pantry or St. Mary Church in her honor.
Phyllis' children would like to thank all the wonderful caregivers at Country Villa in Omro and Moments Hospice.
