E. Jeanne (Profit) Draper, 83, of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Saginaw, died at Avow Hospice in Naples, Fla., on New Year's Day, Jan. 1, 2011.
She was born Elizabeth Jeanne Profit in Cass City, on April 22, 1927, the daughter of Francis Delbert and Iva Crawford Profit. Jeanne attended Cass City schools and spent the summer of 1944 at Interlochen National Music Camp, graduating from Cass City High School in 1945.
In the fall of 1945, Jeanne enrolled at Michigan State College (MSU) in East Lansing, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, graduating in 1949 with a bachelor of arts degree. She later became a flight attendant with Capital Airlines which merged with United. This is where she met her future husband, Harold "D" Draper Jr., whom she married in 1952.
Jeanne was an active member in the Saginaw Junior League and St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary. Jeanne and her husband "D" were members of the Saginaw Club, Saginaw Country Club, Bay City Country Club, Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club, and the First Congregational Church.
Jeanne's beloved husband of 53 years, Harold D. Draper Jr., former president of Draper Chevrolet Company in Saginaw, died in 2005. She is survived by her loving children, Jeffrey Crawford Draper, Wendy Ara Draper-Curtis and her husband Paul Curtis, and Thomas Harold Draper and his wife Deborah Karkut Draper; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Ara Draper, and Mary Shields Draper.
A service will be held on Friday, February 4, 2011, at 2 p.m., in the chapel at Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum, 5950 Gratiot Rd., Saginaw.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, Florida 34105.
