BOAZ - Brian Mathis, 53, of Boaz, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, just shy of his 54th birthday. Born on July 28, 1970, in Fort Carson, Colorado, he was a beacon of life, hope, and fun. Brian dedicated his life to the noble calling of health care. As an emergency room nurse, his selfless service graced the halls of Mercy Health - Lourdes Hospital, Murray-Calloway County Hospital, and Marshall County Hospital. His love and use of humor in his occupation often left those he cared for with a smile, and sometimes a good laugh. Countless patients will recall a joke he told while performing his nursing tasks, that helped them. His commitment to patient care and mentorship of new staff members left an indelible mark on the communities he served.
Brian's profound love for his family knew no bounds. He was a beloved husband, a cherished father, and a doting grandfather - a true patriarch whose guidance and warmth nurtured his family's growth. His legacy is characterized by the selfless love he gave, the wisdom he imparted, and the ever present humor with which he lived his life. Brian's benevolent spirit and kind heart will be dearly missed and forever remembered by those whose lives he touched. He was a member of Life In Christ Church in Marion.
