Jerry Troy Valenzuela

In Loving Memory of Jerry Troy Valenzuela, age 60, passed away on April 22, 2025, in Watsonville, California.

Born and raised in Watsonville, Jerry was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, coworker, and friend. He is preceded in death by his father Joe Valenzuela Sr., mother Jane Valenzuela, and brother Jason Valenzuela. He is survived by his brothers Joe Valenzuela Jr. and Jeff Valenzuela (Dede), his nephew Jason (Lyndsey), and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who adored him.

Jerry had a deep love for his family and a fierce loyalty that never wavered. He protected and supported them with all of his heart. He had a gift for storytelling, often recalling vivid, funny, and detailed stories from his youth. His great laugh and joyful sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

After graduating from Aptos High School, Jerry worked in the canning industry around Watsonville, where his dedication earned him the opportunity to attend UC Davis to study agricultural sciences. Later, he worked in the optical department at Costco. Everywhere he went, he made friends and built lifelong friendships.

He loved 80s music-especially New Wave-and had an unmatched ability to make people smile with his stories and warmth. His generosity, kindness, and genuine spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A visitation will be held on May 16, 2025 at Mehl's Colonial Chapel, 222 E. Lake Ave., Watsonville, CA beginning at 9:30 am. The Chapel Blessing will begin at 10:30 am. The Burial will follow at Valley Public Cemetery, 2445 E. Lake Ave., Watsonville, CA at 12:00 pm.
