Family-Placed Funeral Notice

ANNIE MAE CLAYTON EDGEÒMa-DeaÓ1917 - 2004 Annie Mae Edge, 86 years old, of West Palm Beach, Florida, departed this life on January 11, 2004 after an extended illness. Annie was born inAndersonville, Georgia to the late Gilbert, Sr. and Mary L. Mott Clayton. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edge, Sr. Her final journey was one of peace and comfort; a result of the loving care provided to her by Vitas of Palm Beach County. Annie was one of the first original Volunteer Foster Grandparents through the Area Agency on Aging and worked faithfully at West Riviera Beach Elementary School (1996- 2003), helping children enhance their reading skills. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Jupiter, Florida. Annie is survived by family that includes nine daughters: Jannie M. Tatum, Mary E. McGee, Emma G. Fuller, Alberta E. Walker (John) and Trudy Edge, of West Palm Beach, Betty J. Wingard, and Janis Gaines (George) of Riviera Beach, Emma M. Edge of Springfield, MA; and Mattie Edge [deceased]; twelve sons: Morris E. CIayton (Audrey), Artie L. Edge, Gilbert Edge (Elouise), and Johnny Edge, of Riviera Beach, Wilbert Edge (Rose) of West Palm Beach; Charles Edge, Sr. (Johnnie B.), James Edge, Jr., and Dorsey Edge (Daisy), of Detroit; MI, Dallas Edge of Wetumpka, AL; Amos L. Edge (Mattie P.) of Montgomery, AL; Harvey Edge (Mickey) of Americus, GA, and Henry Willie Edge [deceased]; one brother-in-Iaw, Joseph Tatum, Sr. of Jupiter, FL; 86 grandchildren; 75 great- grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces and friends. The family will be receiving friends from 4 PM to 7 PM on Friday, January 16, 2004 at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 801 8th St., WPB, Rev. Gerald D. Kisner, pastor. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2004 at 10 AM at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, West Palm Beach. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to consider donations to TAB Learning Center, 801 8th St., WPB, FL 33401 in Annie's memory. STEVENS BROS FUNERAL HOME in charge of arrangements.
