Every fall I would send her a birthday card and we would have a chat. We had been doing this since we were teenagers. She is sorely missed.

Caryn will be missed.
I was her pen-pal in Canada since we were kids. We never missed sending each other a card every year. We knew it was going to be a rough year, and when she didn't reply I knew something was wrong.
I will miss our exchanges. She always saw the bright side of everything and I will always remember her.
With tears and a sad heart, goodbye Caryn.
Your pen-pal,

Shell

Dr Goldberg had an enormous and profound effect on my life. She was a true warrior and fought this dreadful disease with such grace. I will miss her greatly.
May her memory be a blessing for all she touched.
