Florence has been a great friend and active member of our Love in Action group here in Golden Lakes, which started this past January. She never missed a monthly Gathering or a chance to support our mission (which is to encourage each other, support Golden Lakes activities and initiate projects that put others first.) She gave generously to our outreach projects and took active part in our activities.
She recently was the only one in our Book Club to fully understand the book being discussed--fortunately she was there to explain it to the others! And last month she came to our celebration of National "I Love Lucy Day." A small group of us met at a cozy Golden Lakes condo to enjoy a DVD honoring the comedy show. It featured the 10 funniest episodes, and Florence's favorite (the stamping of the grapes and resulting brawl) was Florence's favorite and was among the top 3! We laughed till we cried at Lucy's antics!
She recently was given a new iPhone and handled it beautifully, using the special wand. She so enjoyed sharing the videos of the newest member to her family, the most adorable baby boy. Once in awhile, when she got stumped and needed a little assistance handling it, she brought it to me since I have an iPhone, too. She'd catch on immediately and take the opportunity to show me the latest videos of that precious little one!
All of us at Love in Action will miss her dearly, but are forever grateful for the legacy she left us by being a blessing to all who knew her. May her laughter continue as she's held now in G-d's loving hand.
