Harold JACOBSON Obituary

JACOBSON,
Harold "Heshy"
Harold "Heshy" Jacobson passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at age 91. He died at his home in Jupiter surrounded by family, his artwork and the memories of a full life. He was born on August 15, 1924, in New York to Paul and Nettie Jacobson. He married Arline Pass Jacobson on September 15, 1945, after his military service in the Army Air Corps during World War II. They raised their family and lived in Long Island, NY, until Arline's death in 1992. Harold worked for many years in the plastics industry. He had an inquisitive mind and loved to tinker and invent. He contributed to the design and development of many common consumer products used today. He began painting after Arline's death and that became his passion after moving to Florida in 1994. He was a juried artist who has shown his work in a number of galleries, museums and public venues. His artwork is collected by many across the country. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Edward, Melvin and Danny Jacobson, and their respective wives. He is survived by his two sons, Dr. Alan Jacobson and his spouse, June, of Jupiter and Joseph Jacobson and his spouse, Rosemary, of Winston-Salem, NC, and his daughter, Lori Weissman, and her husband, Paul, of New York City. Harold has eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Since friends are the family we choose for ourselves, Harold also leaves many loving and supportive friends to cherish the time spent in his company; Marvin and Debra Bigeleisen were a consistent loving and kind presence in Harold's life for the past 20 years, especially during his illness. Burial was Wednesday, May 4 at Riverside Cemetery in Saddlebrook, NJ. A memorial celebration of Harold's life will be held May 28 at noon at the Riverwalk community clubhouse in West Palm Beach. Donations may be sent to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the American Cancer Society.

I have had the privilege of knowing Harold for many years. I will fondly remember his visits to Dr. J's office. Without exception he had a story to tell and he always made me laugh! He never left without wishing all of us a "blue sky day"! He will be missed by all who knew him.
