Josephine VARGAS Obituary
Josephine L. (Vercher) Vargas "Jo", 80, of Oxford, FL, has died Monday, April 13, 2015. Married to Dominic Vargas in 1955 They moved to West Palm Beach, FL in 1964 where she resided until 1997. Born in Hartford, CT on August 16, 1934 She was the daughter and only child of Joseph and Mildred (Donia) Vercher from Plantsville, CT. Josephine graduated from Southington High School and lived in Plantsville until 1963. Josephine retired from The Palm Beach Post newspaper after 25 years in 1997. She then moved to Oxford, FL to live with her daughter Maria DiDomizio where she lived until her time of rest. She was a professional baker and was know for her amazing cakes and cookies that she made at any and every opportunity for all occasions. She is survived by her children Joseph (Cathie) Vargas West Palm Beach, FL, Michael Vargas Bristol, CT, Maria (Joseph) DiDomizio Oxford, FL, Dominic (Myrvet) Vargas Boynton Beach, FL, John (Susie) Vargas Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Richard (Lenora) Vargas Jacksonville, FL, 16 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held April 25, 2015 at 11:00AM at First Love Church, 2529 North Magnolia Ave, Ocala, FL 34475.

Our hearts were saddened when we heard of Josephine's passing. I have never known her to be anything but loving and sweet. I always enjoyed our visits talking about our families,God and whatever else may be on our hearts over a meal or coffee. She baked the most amazing, beautiful cakes; her chocolate mouse cake my absolute favorite. I pray she is now in her perfect heavenly body gazing into our Fathers eyes; frolicking with the Angels and baking up a sugary feast. Her beautiful spirit will be missed and our hearts and prayers go out to her family during this time and the days ahead. God bless you all.

Our hearts were saddened when we heard of Josephine's passing. I have never known her to be anything other than sweet and loving. I always enjoyed having coffee and dessert with her ; talking about family, God and whatever else was on our hearts. She made amazing beautiful cakes-her chocolate mouse cake my absolute favorite! I pray she is in her heavenly body, looking into our Fathers eyes, frolicking with the Angels; baking up a sugary feast and at total and complete peace. May God bless and keep her family.

Just wanted the family to know how special Jo was to me. In 1986 when my son was born and I was going to be a single mother she really reached out to me. I remember her calling me and trying to arrange things for my shower etc. I was thinking about her not too long ago and wondered if she was OK. She was very special . . . so sorry for your loss.
