Kenneth Marion Obituary

Family-Placed Obituary

KENNETH BERNARD MARION, Jr. Kenneth Bernard Marion, Jr. was called home Thursday morning, February 21, 2008. For the past four years, Kenneth resided in Jacksonville, Florida where he attended Englewood High School. A modest child with a magnetic personality attracted a myriad of friends. Kenneth, better known as 'Ken,' was a young man who will sorely be missed, yet never be forgotten. At his initial greeting, Ken was a warm spirit with a gentleman-like quality as he welcomed in new lives into this world while making an effort not to separate friends from family. Family ties were imperative to Ken; therefore, he made it a point to keep in touch with everyone no matter the circumstances. For now we bear the burden of living through life without his embrace -rest now, gentle soul. Kenneth was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Thomas J. Mosely; survived by his mother, Sandra D. Bivins, Jacksonville, FL; father, Kenneth B. Marion Sr., Jamestown, NY; siblings, Jon Bivins, Jacksonville, FL, Kenneth B. IV, Kenard and Kendra Marion, NY, Alicia and Kenneth G. Marion, West Palm Beach, FL and Jonathan Marion, Texas; uncles, Chris Bivins, Gainesville, FL and David Marion, West Palm Beach, FL; aunts, Ellen Mosely and Stephanie Garbit, West Palm Beach, FL; maternal grandmother, Priscilla Wingfield, WPB, FL; paternal grandparents, Joe and Joanne Garbit, WPB, FL and David R. Marion, Sr., St. Petersburg, FL; a host of other relatives and friends. The Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 1, 2008, St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 1524 W. 35th St., Riviera Beach, FL 33404. The wake will commence at 10 am; thereafter, services will begin at 12 Noon. If you have a desire to send flowers, please contact Shuler's Memorial Chapel, Mangonia Park, FL. Ken, I understand you had to leave this house of clay, As you rest from this life of pain, toiling in the sunshine, storm, and rain. Little did we know that morning that God was going to call you home. In life we loved you dearly; you did not go alone; For parts of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us precious memories; your love is still our guide; And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family's chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. Until then, no sad hearts, no hung down heads; I'm not going to weep for he is not dead. Ken have another house I know; Where only God's redeemed can go. He do not need this house of clay; so he, tenderly, carefully, lay it away.

Goodnight Ken,
Your Familys Sandra, Jon,
Alvin, and Gina

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Ken Sr. & Family,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of sorrow. God says "He heals the brokenhearted, binding up their wounds" Psalm 147:3. May you be at peace with yourself knowing that your love one is at peace with God. Continue to trust in the Lord, for he is the source of mercy and the God whom comforts us.

We pray that you will feel the Lord's loving embrace holding and sustaining you throughout this difficult time.

My Dear Sandy,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. I emphasize with you, as you know, I lost my son at a very early age. My deepest condolences, my thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort and peace. My heart goes out to you at this time and in the days ahead.

Love Always, Your Friend,

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Remember

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.
