Family-Placed Obituary
LUKAS JAMES CARRICK Lukas James "Luke", 31, exited stage left on Saturday April 28 at Martin Memorial Hospital, in Stuart, FL. He was born in Tampa on September 11, 1980. He grew up in Palm Beach County where he graduated from Cardinal Newman High School, class of 1999. His passion was music, writing, singing, and playing. He could make a mouth harp speak like no other. He loved photography and combining his photos into beautiful pieces of art. He had an infectious smile, that would bring you to your knees. He touched so many lives in his music, his art and his personality. He loved a good road trip, where he met and touched the lives of people from Florida, Vermont, New York City, Portland, Truckee, Los Angeles and numerous other places in between. As a young boy he excelled in every sport he played, he was an incredible "short stop", and "catcher" in baseball and he was an unbelievable "quarterback" in football. He loved skateboarding, roller hockey and continued on to play ice hockey with his travel team from Planet Ice, competing in Lake Placid, NY and assisted his team in bringing home a bronze medal. His other passions became wakeboarding, wake skating and then right into extreme snowboarding. He loved the rush of pushing the envelope with everything he did. He made the most of his life with the short amount of time he had on our planet. We love him and will miss him terribly. He truly was "The Lunatic the Lover and the Poet". Survivors include his parents, Tom and Ann Carrick; sister, Kelsey Lynn Carrick; his future nephew and his pups, Chippy Chip, Odie Dodie and Charlie Wiggles, aunts and uncles, Tom and Jean Flynn, Shawn and Lori Watts. Services: A viewing will be held Thursday May 3 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Forest Hills Funeral Home in Palm City and a memorial service to celebrate his life will commence at 1:00 PM. Contributions may be made to Florida Music Educators Association, The Hinckley Center for Fine Arts Education, 402 Office Plaza, Tallahassee, FL 32301-2757 or at www.flmusiced.org in Lukas' memory. Ann, Tom and Kelsey, I'm so sorry for the pain you've had to endure during this tragic time. I'm sorry I never really knew Luke as an adult.Such a talent! I will always remember that little boy with the infectious smile and the big heart. Only the Good Die Young. RIP

Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

Lukas James, my beautiful Godson. I don't think you knew how much you mean to me. You were the son I never had. You brought so much joy to my life. I watched you grow from that little blonde boy with the great smile into a handsome and talented young man. Our hearts are breaking because you're gone too soon, but you are now truly a free spirit, no worries, no pain. I will not say goodbye to you, as I know you will always be in my heart. Lukas James, You were alway's a bright light to every person and heart you touched, which was many.. Although you left us way tooo early,you have left a great contribution to many, many people that your spirit and heart will live on forever. My sweet Luke. You came into my life when we were 10 years old. You wore purple vans. Lol. You were amazing then and that never changed. You are still amazing. I love u sweet boy and I just know that God is now so blessed to spend time with you. I miss u terribly and will never ever forget your beautiful face, sweet nature and ur uncanny ability to make me laugh, cry and love all at once. Watch over me until we meet again one day.

I remember the joy that, Lukie, you gave to many.... As a child, I remember you running across the lawn with great gm, as she hurried to stay along side of you, cane in hand. I remember the smiles on grandpa's face as he watched you play and grow ... and your mom's loving looks. Lukie, you've been a blessing to many. May your soul rest with the Lord.

Luke was a beautiful boy and had a beautiful soul. I remember him as a child full of fun and mischief. I can still see him laughing and running in his Grandparents back yard, ice skating with him as a young man, and marveling at his talents on u tube. I am thankful to have known him; I only wish we had more time. He was a great blessing to everyone who knew him.
