I am the daughter of Peter Long (deceased), first cousin to Peter Mecca. My name is Barbara Long Weil. I grew up in Elma, New York. Peter had a large tomato field across from our house on Girdle Rd. I remember visits to the Mecca's house. We always left feeling happy and a welcome part of his extended family. My thoughts are with those closest to him.

It has been an honor to work with Peter over the past several years. His never ending sense of humor was a blessing. I also enjoyed meeting his family and spending time with them. Peter will be missed.

My condolences go out to the Mecca family. Linda and I, of Royal Palm Beach, as well as Mr. & Mrs. Harry Greene of Haines City Florida will miss Peter. The Mecca's have been a part of our families for over a quarter century. Words in an epitaph do not do just to this kind man or his family. His hand shake was his bond. He will indeed be missed.

My prayers go out to the entire Mecca family and friends. I was blessed in participating in his care during his Hospital stay in NY. He was a model patient. His personality still shined through his illness. He now sits at the the right side of our Heavenly Father. I will not forget his courage and appreciation to all that cared for him. It didn't take much to realize what a wonderful humanitarian he was. I am sure he will be missed by all whom he touched. May he rest in peace.
A special thought goes to Vicky whom participated in his every need.
