I am sorry to say i didn't know anything about you, until after you had died. We should have been taught about you in school, or at least black history. You were one of a kind. R.I.P.

My deepest condolences to Wanda and to the rest of the Mitchell family.
To say that Bob was a genuine passionate person is an understatement. He could fill a room with his personality.
I enjoyed all of my conversations with him. His spirit was fiery and always uplifting. Always down to earth and wound up. I bet his fastball was fierce. He definitely made an imprint on me whenever we spent time together.
I always had a hard time parting his side. We could talk forever.
I wish I had more opportunities to chat with him.
Thank you Bob. God keep you at his side.
May your legacy inspire others as it has inspired me.

RIP Mr. Mitchell, I did not know him personally. But from what I heard and read, he was truly legendary and made our community proud with his contributions in Negro League Baseball and humanity. (see link)
