Family-Placed Funeral Notice
ROBERT L. TOBIAS Dr. Robert L. Tobias, PhD, died Saturday, April 29, 2006. Born January 4, 1933 in Oakland, CA, Robert worked as a chemical engineer for Dow Chemical prior to joining IBM's personal computer division and moving to Boca Raton in 1968. Robert retired from IBM in 2003 after 38 years of service. Since his retirement he meticulously built and flew elaborate model airplanes. Robert served on the board of the Music Guild of Boca Raton for 25 years and as Treasurer for 20 years, working tirelessly alongside his wife, Edith. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Edith R. Tobias; his son James Tobias and his wife Cyndie; son Robert J. Tobias and his wife Blanca; son David Tobias and his wife Becky; son Jeffrey Tobias; grandchildren Amanda, Alysha, Tristin, Brandon, Ryan, Lynn; sister Colleen Wood and husband Bill and nephews Clifford and Timothy; niece Linda Willet.
