Sharon WEAD Obituary

Sharon Wead's platinum blonde hair and outlandish nail art made her hard to miss. The only thing more striking than her appearance was her intellect, which left us all a little wiser and weirder for having known her. Sharon was the secret weapon behind hundreds of students for three decades. Whether you were Ivy League material or struggling with a learning disability, Sharon could teach you irreverent (read: profane) memory tricks to help you maximize your potential. Sharon loved her students, and kvelled over their every victory. Sharon was open about her struggles with bipolar disorder. She could ace any standardized test you put in front of her, but she was constantly at war with her own serotononin reuptake. Sharon did everything with gusto. When it came to accessories, two was one and one was none, but a dozen was about right. She was always smoking at least 3 cigarettes at a time. A leg injury for Sharon meant a neon cast bedazzled with enough rhinestones to impress a drag queen. Her favorite way to end an evening was with a Bailey's and coffee at E.R. Bradley's followed by berry flavored wine coolers in the hot tub at her home. Sharon loved trashy novels, adored Rottweilers, and never forgot a dirty joke. Her signature fragrance was Paloma Picasso, and she wore it better than anyone. She hated anti-vaxxers and decaf. Sharon had no use for tradition. To honor her memory, be med compliant. No matter how badly you've screwed up, you can start again. But, please, please, be med compliant.

My prayers & sympathy to her family at this difficult time. I did not know Sharon in person but I had spoken to her on the phone. I picked her Rottweiler Baran up from animal control & he is currently at my home living out his last days. He obviously adored Sharon as she too loved her rottweilers. I hope she is looking down from heaven & is at peace in the knowledge that he wasn't left alone at the shelter. I too have a love for Rottweilers & now Baran is a Rising Star Rottweileruntil its his time to meet up with Sharon again.
